Over the mountains

Description

Here is a city build for and by people who dont die on money but live for love,
A place blind of sorrow, regret and pain, a place that one used to call "Morbarough"
Rumored by many, Doubted by more,
a place the black hearts wont find, only innocents see the magic over the mountains being led by a light inside.

Bam, that just happened, really wish there was such a place though

off to a pretty good start! wish i could paint.. ill get the hang of it someday. the city part looks interesting and makes a good focal point. since youre looking for crits, ill drop a few (my opinions, of course):

*id say there is an issue with perspective in regards to the road leading to the gate. its too direct (straight from POV to city) and doesnt scale in size, if that makes sense.. perhaps a meandering road leading from off to the viewers left, just to avoid the straight line feel.

*the top of the painting feel very empty. the birds are a nice touch, but i feel its missing something else. clouds, or maybe move the birds off to the left a bit and add some extra brush like you have at the bottom, but up in the top right corner.. could give an appearance like the viewer has peeked through the edge of a forest and has found a hidden city of happiness... which leads me to:

*the city itself, while supposed to be a city of happiness/love, looks very barren/dark. the ferris wheel is a great touch, but i feel like im looking at an abandoned city rather than a current hub of love. needs more life. also, the fortress walls kind of give off a "keep out" vibe, i would think a city of love would be inviting.. perhaps there is more to the story here, but right now the viewer is unaware of anything different.

*the reflection of the water doesnt match the sky.

*the ground around the city looks muddy, like the lake was once surrounding the city but has retracted. is this on purpose?

hope these observations help. keep at it! :highfive:
